Join Bestselling Author Hannah Russell as she skydives for Brooke Action for working horses, donkeys and mules this summer!
On Saturday 18th August 2018, I’m going to be heading to Peterlee to skydive for Brooke Action for working horses, donkeys and mules as part of my role as Every Horse remembered ambassadors! Plus Little Alf is going to be joining me for the day – although he won’t be skydiving anytime soon, he will just be there to cheer me on and offer his support from the ground, which I’m really excited about as it’s not every day you get to take your pony skydiving with you!
I have been skydiving before when I was 17 years old. I jumped for RP fighting blindness and loved the experience. As soon as you jump and begin to fall the adrenaline begins to kick in, it’s really hard to describe the experience but if you don’t mind heights I can highly recommend it! The views are simply stunning once you begin to slow down towards the end. Last time I went skydiving I jumped from 12,000 feet since it was my first time, but this time I’m going to jumping from 15,000 feet for an extra challenge.
I’m really proud to be supporting Brooke Action for working horses, donkeys and mules on my skydive, I’m incredibly passionate about the work they do across the globe.
Brooke’s Every Horse Remembered Campaign this year is remembering the eight million horses, donkeys and mules which died in World War 1. It is also representing the 100 million equines which are working worldwide in punishing environment to support 600 million people.
If you’ve ever wanted to skydive from 15,000 feet then you can join me and Little Alf this summer and be part of the Brooke summer skydive! Plus you’ll get to meet Little Alf on the day. We are making the day a fun experience for an amazing cause. You can find out more here on how to get involved – https://www.thebrooke.org/get-involved/fundraise/find-an-event/skydive
I can’t wait to jump this summer, I think I’ll be really nervous on the day but will have Alf cheering me on in the background – so I should be fine!
